This page lists everything VoxBase stores on your device, and lets you change your answer about the analytics tags at any time. How we handle personal data in general is set out in our privacy policy.
1. What we store
Sign-in cookies
We set cookies when you have an account, and they are what keep you signed in from one page to the next. They are needed for the service to work, and they appear only for signed-in visitors.
A random visitor identifier
Every visitor, signed in or not, is given a random identifier so that free searches can be counted without an account. It is kept in a cookie, in local storage, in session storage, in the window’s own name, in the browser’s database storage and in the browser’s cache, so that clearing one of those places does not lose it. The cookie lasts up to 400 days. The identifier travels to us with each search so the free searches can be counted, and those counts are kept in our own database. It holds nothing about you and is not shared with anyone else.
Your answer to the analytics bar
Your answer is kept in your browser under the name voxbase_analytics_consent_answer, so that the bar does not ask again on every page. It stays until you change it below or clear your browser’s stored data.
2. Your choice
Both analytics tags stay off until you accept them, and a visitor who declines, or who never answers, is never recorded.

3. Analytics and tags
Two outside services run on the site, and both wait for your answer:
- Microsoft Clarity — records how visitors move through the pages.
- Google Tag Manager — loads our tags.
Neither one is loaded, and neither one stores anything or is asked for anything, until you press Accept. What each of them stores once it is running is decided by that company rather than by us, so this page names the two services instead of listing each cookie they set.
4. Managing your browser
Because your answer is kept in your browser, clearing your browser’s stored data removes it, and the bar will ask you again on your next visit.
Every browser also lets you block cookies and storage outright. Blocking the sign-in cookies means you cannot stay signed in, and blocking local storage means your analytics answer cannot be remembered.
